Pair Connection Mode: With the aid of two Nport servers (5110/DE-211/DE-311), two serial devices can be connected directly to each other via a local Ethernet or via the Internet.
Ethernet Modem Mode: With this operating mode, computers with non TCP/IP-capable operating systems (e.g. MS-DOS) are also able to access Nport servers via networks/Internet. To do this, an additional Nport server is connected to the serial interface of the computer, and this is then integrated in the network at the Ethernet port.
